A 7th instalment in the second season of a series of 3D animated videos for Loudon International.
This episode marked a benchmark in quality and the visualisation of how Foamed Bitumen is created and applied.
With each episode, we’ve refined our workflow, streamlined scenes, and squeezed the most out of the resources available to us, resulting in a steady climb in production quality.
This episode, however, was special.
Every episode before this one led to this specific concept: foamed bitumen and how it’s created. The favourite child, in a sense.
So after more back-and-forth than usual, together with the client, we created something truly memorable.
It wasn’t easy, and certainly not overnight.
Weeks of planning, modelling, texturing, simulating, and building out node systems just to simulate a bursting bubble of bitumen.
Still, it wasn’t enough.
We had to expand our resources, and with the loyal, continued support from Loudon International, we did just that.
How did we deliver?
With an entirely new simulation software suite to replicate complex grains and sand.
A weekend of little to no sleep, climbing the mountain of a learning curve.
And a final delivery we won’t soon forget.
